What You Get
One rope, eight metres long, coiled and banded so it stays tidy until you open it.
The rope is twisted natural hemp. Three strands run together along the whole length, and the finish is the slightly dry, textured one hemp is known for rather than a slick, shiny surface.
A brass cap sits on each end. That means the rope arrives finished: no loose fibres at either end, and nothing to melt or knot before the first tie.

Black, Red or Golden
The rope comes in three colours. Red is the one that stands out against skin and reads clearly on camera. Black stays low-key and looks like nothing in particular if it is left in a drawer. Golden has a warmer, softer sheen to it than the other two.

Ways to Play
Eight metres handles the basics. Here are the three wraps most people learn first.
Legs and Ankles
Start at the ankle and work up towards the thigh, laying each loop a hand's width apart. Keep the rope flat against the skin rather than twisted, and tighten each loop as you go.
Eight metres covers both legs. Cross the rope between them so it steps from one leg to the other, then tuck the last of the rope under the loop above it.
Leave enough slack to slide a finger under every loop. If two fingers will not fit, it is too tight.

Chest and Arms
Loop the rope around the chest just under the arms and tie it off at the back. Keep every pass flat, side by side, with no rope crossing over itself.
Add a second set of loops above the arms, then join the two with a short run down the front. That is the whole harness, and it comes off as easily as it went on.
Chest wraps sit closer to the skin than leg wraps, so check the fit with two fingers under each loop before you keep going.

Hands and Wrists
The first tie most people learn. You can tie it on yourself.
Fold the rope in half and lay the fold across both wrists, held side by side.
Wrap both strands around twice together. Two passes sit flat, so the pressure spreads instead of digging in at one point.
Feed the folded end back through those two wraps and pull the loose strands to lock it. Nothing is knotted, so it comes off just as fast.
The same fold works on ankles. Keep the wrists in front of the body, and check the wrap again a few minutes in.

Coiling It Back
Coil it the way it came
Gather the loops in one hand, wrap the loose end around the bundle a few times, then tuck it through. The rope stays in one piece and comes out without tangling next time.
Air it, do not wash it
Hemp does not like water. Hang the rope up to air after a session, and keep it somewhere dry rather than in a sealed bag.
Keep it away from heat
Store it out of direct sun and away from radiators. Hemp dries out and stiffens if it is left somewhere hot.

Damaged or Wrong Item

Before Each Session
Run the rope through your hands and look along the whole length. Check for thin spots, cuts in the strands and any place where the twist has come apart.
Check both brass caps are still tight and sitting flush against the rope.
Keep a pair of safety shears within reach whenever the rope is on a body. You will almost never need them, and they should be there anyway.
Two fingers should fit under every loop. Numbness or tingling anywhere means the wrap comes off straight away.
Retire the rope if a strand is worn through. Hemp holds up well, but a damaged strand will not take load.

How long is it, and how thick?
