What You Get

One rope, eight metres long, coiled and banded so it stays tidy until you open it.

The rope is twisted natural hemp. Three strands run together along the whole length, and the finish is the slightly dry, textured one hemp is known for rather than a slick, shiny surface.

A brass cap sits on each end. That means the rope arrives finished: no loose fibres at either end, and nothing to melt or knot before the first tie.

8 metres of twisted natural hemp rope. One continuous length, not joined.

A brass cap on both ends. Both ends are already finished.

Coiled and sealed. It comes out of the box ready to use.

Nothing on the outside of the parcel says what is inside.

Black, Red or Golden

The rope comes in three colours. Red is the one that stands out against skin and reads clearly on camera. Black stays low-key and looks like nothing in particular if it is left in a drawer. Golden has a warmer, softer sheen to it than the other two.

The colours handle the same way, so pick on looks rather than feel.

One rope or all three

One rope is $18.90. The three-colour set is $52.20, so taking all three at once works out cheaper than buying them one at a time.

Ways to Play

Eight metres handles the basics. Here are the three wraps most people learn first.

Legs and Ankles

Start at the ankle and work up towards the thigh, laying each loop a hand's width apart. Keep the rope flat against the skin rather than twisted, and tighten each loop as you go.

Eight metres covers both legs. Cross the rope between them so it steps from one leg to the other, then tuck the last of the rope under the loop above it.

Leave enough slack to slide a finger under every loop. If two fingers will not fit, it is too tight.

See our shibari and bondage ropes.

Chest and Arms

Loop the rope around the chest just under the arms and tie it off at the back. Keep every pass flat, side by side, with no rope crossing over itself.

Add a second set of loops above the arms, then join the two with a short run down the front. That is the whole harness, and it comes off as easily as it went on.

Chest wraps sit closer to the skin than leg wraps, so check the fit with two fingers under each loop before you keep going.

More bondage gear, if you want to build the rest of the kit.

Hands and Wrists

The first tie most people learn. You can tie it on yourself.

The Fold

Fold the rope in half and lay the fold across both wrists, held side by side.

Two Wraps

Wrap both strands around twice together. Two passes sit flat, so the pressure spreads instead of digging in at one point.

The Cinch

Feed the folded end back through those two wraps and pull the loose strands to lock it. Nothing is knotted, so it comes off just as fast.

The same fold works on ankles. Keep the wrists in front of the body, and check the wrap again a few minutes in.

More bondage kits if you want the cuffs to go with it.

Coiling It Back

Coil it the way it came

Gather the loops in one hand, wrap the loose end around the bundle a few times, then tuck it through. The rope stays in one piece and comes out without tangling next time.

Air it, do not wash it

Hemp does not like water. Hang the rope up to air after a session, and keep it somewhere dry rather than in a sealed bag.

Keep it away from heat

Store it out of direct sun and away from radiators. Hemp dries out and stiffens if it is left somewhere hot.

The care list further down covers what to check before each session.

One rope is $18.90. All three are $52.20.

Eight metres of natural hemp in black, red or golden, capped in brass and sealed in a plain box. One rope was $25.00. Three bought separately would come to $56.70, so the set saves you $4.50. Something to pair it with? Cuffs, collars and restraint sets start at $17.10.

Shipping and Privacy

Shipping is free, and every parcel goes out discreetly.

Orders are packed in 1 to 2 business days. Delivery usually takes 7 to 10 business days, and you get a tracking number as soon as it ships.

The outer box is plain and unbranded. No brand name, logo or product words appear on the packaging or on the shipping label.

The description line on the label shows only your address, so whoever hands you the parcel learns nothing about what is inside.

Your card or PayPal statement shows a neutral abbreviation of the parent company, for example HK JIAORUN, rather than anything descriptive.

Before Each Session

Run the rope through your hands and look along the whole length. Check for thin spots, cuts in the strands and any place where the twist has come apart.

Check both brass caps are still tight and sitting flush against the rope.

Keep a pair of safety shears within reach whenever the rope is on a body. You will almost never need them, and they should be there anyway.

Two fingers should fit under every loop. Numbness or tingling anywhere means the wrap comes off straight away.

Retire the rope if a strand is worn through. Hemp holds up well, but a damaged strand will not take load.

Questions

How long is it, and how thick?

Each rope is 8 metres long. The thickness is not published by LOCKINK, so if you need an exact diameter before you order, email jessie@lockink.net. Support usually answers within 24 hours on business days.

Is it really hemp?

Yes. LOCKINK lists it as natural hemp rope. Hemp has a slightly dry, textured surface rather than a slick one, and the rope carries a faint scent of its own.

Which colour should I start with?

All three handle the same way, so it comes down to looks. Red is the one that shows up most clearly, black is the most ordinary-looking if you leave it out, and golden has a warmer tone. If you cannot decide, the three-rope set is $52.20.

Do I need to buy anything else?

No. It arrives capped and coiled, so it is ready to use on its own. If you want to add to it, our cuffs, collars and restraint sets start at $17.10.

I have never tied anyone up before. Is 8 metres a good length to learn on?

LOCKINK lists this rope for rope play beginners, and eight metres is a workable length to start with. One rope will cover the legs or a basic chest wrap, and it stays manageable while you are learning the wraps.

Will the parcel say what is inside?

No. The outer box is plain and unbranded, and the description line on the label shows only your address. Your card or PayPal statement shows a neutral parent-company abbreviation instead.

Can I send it back?

Only while the seal is unbroken. Ropes are named on LOCKINK's hygiene list, so once the packaging is opened the rope cannot be returned. Sealed and unused orders can go back inside the return window, and EU and UK orders can withdraw within 14 days of delivery. The full wording is on the return and refund policy page.
